You definitely want to look for a single family home, best for your DH's job is anything West of I-75 and close to US 41. Lots of nice areas in Naples and even in Southern Bonita Springs. You can also find some nice places north of Bonita Springs in Estero (newer area, very clean)

Seriously? That's a little extreme. 80%-90% of the victims of sex predators know the person (usually a family member), which leaves 10%-20% of cases to the general population. In other words you're chances of being hit by a car while jumping on a pogo stick are about equal to having your child become a victim of a sexual predator. So in other words dictating where one lives based upon those stats isn't rational and borders on hysteria at best.

Often any kind of sexual abuse it someone known such as friends, family etc... All cautions are good, but best to keep your eyes on your children. The registered offenders are probably less of an issue than the ones you don't know.

You could technically get registered as a sex offender in some areas for something, such as "public" urination. I would be more concerned w/ other crimes, but still good to know what is in an area to a degree. The repeat offenders would be ones to be really concerned about I think. Also maybe large numbers.

However, checking out the crime in any area seems like a good idea imo.
