NO! At least not in the "winter". I think the average for January and February is 66. Brr! But it's warm from April until October so it could be worse.

Copy this link and you can always check Naples water temp. It's about halfway down the page. Naples, Florida (34102) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground Overall temperature varies throughout the year from 58 to 89 Fahrenheit.
The Gulf has a major temperature mitigating effect on the coast compared to 10 miles inland. One of the byproducts of this is an arid coastal savannah next to a subtropical everglades environment. That means it rains a lot more inland and gets a little colder in the Winter and a little hotter in the Summer.

Beth

PS Right now The Gulf temperature is 64 degrees.

The beach was very crowded today. The water is getting warmer. It was so warm on the beach, many people were in the water. I think the Gulf waters will now warm up quickly.

I was there last week and the water was 69 degrees. A few people were swimming. I only waded. Not really bad at all.

the Gulf water is ALWAYS warmer that the Atlantic side. A couple of years ago were staying up in Amelia Island in N East Florida and the Atlantic was chilly in July...and very rough.
