I posted in Lee County and got no responses, so I thought I'd try here.

We're actually buying home in Bonita Springs tomorrow.

Is Comcast the only game in town, or are there better options? We won't be part of a HOA. I talked with Comcast and services there will cost double what we pay here.

We want HDTV and internet.

Thanks......

Comcast is the only game for cable TV. A few weeks ago I dumped them for DirecTV and wished I switched a long time ago. I still have them for internet because they are faster than CenturyLink, the DSL provider.

CenturyLink is starting to offer TV called Prism but it is only in small areas right now. I don't know if it is in Bonita.

How is the HD channel lineup for Direct TV? Can you give me an idea of the startup cost and monthly fee after that? Do you have DVR?
Thanks for replying....

I am satisfied with the HD lineup, but I never had HD before.

There is no startup cost. I pay $54/month for the second lowest package which is one DVR HD receiver and one regular receiver. The price goes up about $12-15 after the first year when some rebates expire. It is all explained very clearly on the website. You customize it based on how many TVs, DVRs etc.

If you go with this let me know. If you use my account as a referral we each get $100 in the form of a credit.

Comcast fan here too...I have DISH in our Mtn house, (had Direct before that), and my opin is:
if one has access to Comcast cable, I would not have Sat as a general consumer.

Also, Comcast has a nice bundle of HD/DVR, high speed internet and phone, imo.
