I really love some good barbecue, especially in the fall. Before I go attempting to smoke my own, is there any place in Naples, Bonita, or even Ft. Myers where you can get smoked pulled pork barbecue?

We ate at Black Eyed Pig last night and all I have to say is DELICIOUS! Now, do not go here expecting anything fancy. It's basically a hole in the wall (which is how I like my barbecue places!) with a big smoker out back. I had the pulled pork sandwich and I thought it was delicious. I used the hot barbecue sauce and thought it was tasty. We had some smoked turkey, too, which was also great. The sides were nothing special but that's not what I go for. They were fine. I am looking forward to trying the ribs. I will definitely be getting pounds of barbecue to go from Black Eyed Pig (they are on Shirley St right off Pine Ridge).

Thanks for the recommendation!

There is a restaurant called Porky's "something" on Marco that has pulled pork, ribs, etc., etc. It is very good, cheap, and not your usual Naples restaurant fare. They even have alligator! If you get a full dinner, you will get the salad bar with it. I think they have a place in Old Naples too, but I have never been there.

I'm sure I'll be tarred and feathered by the traditionalists for this, but the BBQ bar at Whole Foods is pretty damn good in my opinion. Especially the short ribs.

Michelbobs is old news, they close with no notice for weeks or months at a time whenever its not busy. ( Mostly in the Summer time) It used to be standing room only to get in there 12 years ago. Now its just another place to try. They have an Early bird special from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Picnic tables and rustic Decor. Think Log Cabin.
I have not tried Texas Tony's or
Black Eyed Pig- Thats the place that had the midget Sign-holder standing on the corner that got run over and killed by the hit and run driver last month.

That midget sign holder had a name, "lugnut" and it was a real shame. He was a hilarious man & was always happy. Do have to say living here for 3 yrs, people drive like idiots here.
