Several people on C-D said that Naples is a great place for seashells. Could you guys tell me where are the best places/beaches to find shells and what kind of shells are on the beaches in Naples.

I know we'll be going to Sanibel, Captiva, Cayo Costa, A few other places.
We hope to make it to Manasota Key/ Englewood.

Sanibel is the best (IMHO), but timing is everything. You want to get there early in the morning (like before sunrise) on a day of early low tide. You will see "shellers" out already with flashlights.

Due to the bridge and parking expense of Sanibel I like Marco Island better. I park at Tiger Beach park, walk around to the wide beach by the high rise condos and then walk north to Railway Inlet. Again you want to start early, but time the tide so that it is low or making low......
