I am seriously considering taking a 6 month seasonal position as an RN for NCH north campus. I would be able to use NCH's seasonal employee housing which is very close to NCH downtown.

Which hospital is better the downtown campus or north campus? How bad will the commute be in season from downtown to north Naples?

How do nurses at these hospitals seem to like their jobs? I have looked through nursing forum sites and there are mostly positive things to say.

I am 37 year old single female, is there anything for a person like me to do for fun?

Any other advice or suggestions are welcome as well.

If this job is working directly for NCH, Take it, great oppurtunity. IT's a sleepy town but the pay is good and you can probably sign a long term deal if you are a good worker.
They are pumping out large groups of non-english speaking Nurses from all the local Training centers, so if you don't stare at your iphone all day or text while on the job you will most likely be picked up for a permanent position. Nobody wants a lazy nurse, but there are a lot of them currently working ( mostly as private duty nurses ).
I would check the offer to make sure there is not a "no permanent hire " clause in it,
sometimes temp places have this so they get a referal fee again and again and can keep a small portion of your salary.

This is not through a temp agency, it is an agreement made directly with the hospital. I am not necessarily looking for permanent employment, just wanting to get away from the cold and ice. In fact, in the summer Florida nurses complain that they get their hours cut too much due to low census. I am considering the snowbird lifestyle. What kind of local training centers are you talking about? Registered Nurses must have an Associate Degree or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.

Fawcett, etc trending for less and less foreign born - don't know if you're a US citizen - but it's becoming a factor - thank god - check on new ops with newer emergency walk-ins being developed in the immediate area

Peachy,

Hi. I am contemplating of the seasonal job too. Do you know when they start? I maybe able to be there in August. What if the contract is cut short? What are your options? We might as well get in touch with each other. I notice there are less full-time positions offered compared to seasonal ones.

The local centers I am referring to are the local Universities and the Vocational schools.
