We have been looking for a home 3 bed 2+ baths with a pool in Naples. We can't find a gated community with a grassy area (back yard) that allows fences for our dog(60 lbs), any suggestions? If not gated, does anyone know of a nice area west of 75. We don't want to spend more than $350K. We are not boaters or golfers
Thank you

I don't know about zoning but I would look at Naples Park. You could probably do it in Pine Ridge but that is likely out of your budget.

The west of I-75 narrows things down considerably.

I agree, you don't want a gated Community with a Dog and a fence, stay with the single family home areas like Naples Park or Willoughby Acres.

Willoughby is a good suggestion. Also look in Victoria Park.

Default naples gated communities that permit fences for dogs

Thank you all for your replies. We didn't like Naples Park,Willoughby Acres and Victoria Park. Do you know of any other dog friendly areas? We are going back in September.

Most complexes are dog friendly if you are the owner and depending on the breed and size of the dog. However, since in a gated condo/townhouse type community you do not own any land, you are not allowed to install fencing. You could, however, probably install an "invisible fence" type system.

We have a 70 pound dog and are also looking for a community that allows fences. One of the subdivisions I talked to suggested getting a screened in patio with heavy duty screen. Anybody ever try this to contain a dog? Thanks!

Default screened in porch 70 lb dog

I wouldn't trust a screened in porch. Your pet can go right through the screen. A large dog needs a grassy area to run in. Our dog is 60 lbs and needs space; if she saw something I know she would go right through the screeen. We are going back to Naples in Sept and will be looking for a home with a fence in a non gated area.
