Hi All! I am taking a job in the Bonita Springs area and need some input on where to live. I am open to anywhere in the area of Bonita Springs/Naples, preferably a 20 minute drive or less. I am really looking for a clean, safe environment, close to shopping, restaurants, grocery stores etc., and somewhere I can drive back and forth to without tolls and horrific traffic ( I understand traffic can be heavy at times). I need some input about the best/safest places to live- I am on the fence about complexes just because I've heard the stories...paper thin walls, rowdy neighbors, over crowded- However I am not opposed, I just need to know where the most ideal complexes are...I would love to live in a town home but I know they can be expensive. I want to spend under $1,000, more like $800 a month, but would definitely spend a little more if it was in a really nice safe area(safety is my main concern). Does anyone have input on Amberton Apartments? I have read mixed reviews. I am also looking into Belvedere at Quail Run, TGM Bermuda Island, and Lakeside Hideaway Condos. These are really the only ones I have come across so far that seem nice, and are within my budget and driving distance. Any input/additional info would be greatly appreciated!! I have been to Florida many times but never to the Bonita Springs/Naples area. THANK YOU!!!!

Hello and welcome! My daughter just moved here too with her BF and those exact same guidelines so I will be watching this thread too. They are going out looking Saturday or I would offer advice. I will post as we discover good places as well!

Moving to naples florida, would love advice!!

Read the apartment advice in this thread.

Amberton and Belvedere are OK. Bermuda is so-so. I know nothing about Lakeside.

Bottom line: rent a condo instead.

Thank you sbapasto, I am looking forward to the information!

RMD3819, thank you for the info! Do you happen to have any suggestions for safe condos?

As a general rule all condos are in safe locations.

The Oasis Condo's (not the apartemnts, condos in back of development, apts in front) any private condo in North Naples is fine.

I would think looking for a private condo rental between Immokalee Road in Naples and Coconut Point in Estero would work for you. My advice.....rent a room or extended stay hotel/motel for a month so you can visit each place, then size it up for yourself. There are a lot of FGCU students in that zone that might have a room for rent for the month and can help you until you make a decision.

Floridabound-

My daughter is going to rent with her BF at Bermuda Lakes on the corner of Vanderbilt Beach and Immokalee. Very nice apartments and theyre gated. No "subsidized" housing and you have to have at least a 650 credit score and income requirements. They have a really nice pool, work out room, racquet ball court and lots of social events to meet people. There were a good amount of people at the pool today -- all friendly and of varied ages from mid twenties to probably 60's. You may want to check it out!
