Just wondering if anybody has anything bad or good to say about these divosta communities like village walk or island walk. Either in Naples or bonita. Seems like a nice place to rent a small pool home. What are the pros and cons of these gated communities?

We purchased a new home in VillageWalk of Bonita Springs in August, 2013; closed on the property in February, 2014. So far: we've been very happy with our decision. One thing that we've found: a lot of people start out with townhouses as their first purchase in VillageWalk. After 2-3 years, they find the townhouses are a bit on the small side and start looking at other properties in the Estero/Naples/Bonita Springs areas. Amazingly enough: most of those people end up buying another property in Village Walk. It is a very friendly community with many activities to chose from every month. One thing to note: DiVosta is currently estimating they will be SOLD OUT by August, 2015.

I see. Can you tell me how far it is to grocery shopping, Walmart etc. from village walk? Are there things close by or do you have to drive a bit? And how long to get to Naples in season? Can you hop on to I 75 at that bonita springs Rd or do you have to go north or south. Guess I am just asking about accessibility. Hard to tell from looking at the maps.

VillageWalk is 3 miles east of I-75 on Bonita Springs Road; as you might expect there is also a Publix market about 1/2 mile closer, or 2.5 miles from the front gate. WalMart is about 6 miles away just west of I-75 off Immokalee Road.
Home Depot has a store on Bonita Springs Road, about 1/2 west of I-75.
We like the easy access to the area via I-75: shopping, airport, the beach is about 15 minutes straight west; but during season: 25-30 minutes is more in the ballpark.
