So a passing hobby is to use Google Maps to explore the backcountry area around SW Florida...when I came across this:

https://www.google.com/maps/dir///@2.../data=!3m1!1e3

Apparently, its private property...a house. I checked out the collier county site, and it appears to be on county land if not everglades national park land.

Camp Lu Lu is the name. What is the story behind this?

Are you sure it is private? The US Park Service contracts with vendors to provide services in the Parks. If you go to the website above and click the last link in the left, it brings you to the US National Parks site. The link is broken, but you're on the park site. These guys may just be contractors. We've been to many out west and they have food, lodging, gift shops, activities, all third parties with contracts with the Park Service.

Because it still belongs to the military. A little google can go a long way. That's why there's a building on this key.

Yes, but collier county property appraiser lists ownership as the county, not US Military.
