After watching two 'Nam era guys go at at it daily at one job I had... one a conservative vet, the other a liberal dodger, I came to these conclusions:

1) The conservatives basically are "what's mine is mine, what's yours is yours". They want to legislate fences.

2) The Liberals are basically socialistic. They want to legislate what you *must* do. Which seems to be get high, be diverse and everyone piles up on each other like a bunch of puppy dogs.

In short the liberals want to legislate that everyone live according to thier particular polyana view of things. And they do it with a vengence. In short, if you want to live less liberally than them, you are evil. "What you don't want to smoke pot, geez you are so messed up, dude!" LOL!

For example, I got the lecture from one that "life begins at the third month". And of course he was for legislation supporting that. So in effect he was willing to legislate taking an unborn life to preserve his life's standard. Far from live and let live, true?

Basically all people are like this on some level. The basic condition of humanity is hypocrisy. LOL!
This is the Florida forum, not Politics and other Controversies. You resurrected a six-month-old thread to say that?

I am in the process of purchasing a condo in Naples as we speak. I have been to Naples many times and have chosen to purchase a second home here instead of a lot of different areas. I find most everyone helpful and friendly. The weather for me is a no-brainer. I am from the Buffalo area. I basically did my homework on the area and am not disappointed.

Naples is fine for snowbirds, retirees, or tourists. Living here year round as a young professional or with a young family is something entirely different.

Naples is NOT just for snowbirds, retirees and tourists. I have lived here my whole life and am raising my kids here. You seem to have an up north mind-set. Naples, or any other part of Florida is NOT comparable to any other state in this country. It's not a concrete jungle full of tall buildings and cars. I'll take Florida over NY, Chicago or any other big city anyday!

Fun City, all the way. Yes, Florida is definitely a UNIQUE state, like no other.

I think you may have assumed I was a snowbird, retiree or tourist, however, I am none of the above.
