Coming from Europe, I am looking for a winter getaway in SW Florida. 3 weeks in feb/mar would be great, we are currently in Naples and love the place. But buying and hope to rent out the rest of the year is uncertain, renting a condo or getting a hotelroom is our options now. We would like to invest in Florida.

Fractional ownership seems ideal, where 8 to 10 owners share a condo, 2 weeks in the winter, 2 weeks in the summer an 2 in the fall. True, deeded ownership to all. We have looked at one in Ft Mayers, but can't find any in Naples.

I'd be willing to pay up to $100k for these weeks, so I think I could get something nice. I think I not the only one looking for this kind of ownership

If either of you want a condo (2 bedroom/2 bath) in Naples, contact me. Asking just over $100,000. We only want to get rid of it at this point.

The fractional ownerships are almost always a bad deal financially. It's going to cost you a lot more than renting a similar property will over the long run, and they seriously do not appreciate like sole ownership properties even during boom times.

I'd only do it if you absolutely positively loved a property and were not buying with appreciation in mind.
