We have three young kiddos, all under 5 and are moving this summer from Minnesota to Florida. We want to live within 30 minutes from the beach and on the Gulf side. We are interested in the Naples area and are fully aware of the price tag that comes with that city so we are not looking to buy IN Naples, unless of course the price is right, but instead surrounding cities, within 15 miles or so. Our budget is 300K. My husband is looking for a motorcycle dealership to work for, either Harley, Indian or Polaris. We would like to be within 30 minutes of amenities as well as the beach, as stated earlier.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

Naples has few surrounding cities - - almost all of Collier County has a Naples mailing address!

If you look north you will be in Lee County, where home prices can be a bit more reasonable but taxes are higher.

Id recommend that you lock in the job first and then go from there to locate affordable housing. It's a long stretch from Naples to North Ft Myers, for example. And yes, housing in Naples is pricey.

I would look in rural east Naples....Golden Gate Estates (Not Golden Gate).....it's doable in your price range...actually there are brand new houses in that range
Harley dealer is on Pine Ridge

Check out Six Bends Harley Davidson in Fort Myers (just off I75 and Daniels). The place is huge and there are all kinds of events going on there. It is like a destination. Your $300K will go further and the commute to Six Bends would be shorter if you look in Bonita Springs, Estero, and South Fort Myers.

Realistically, you are not going to get anything very nice here in that price range. The Naples area is one of the most expensive areas in the nation to live. You might try Ft. Meyers.

look around Bonita Springs realtor.com. You can buy a nice 2000sq ft 3/2 with a pool in a good neighborhood for 300k and they're all 30 min or less to the beach.
