This!

Seasonal traffic is bad around US 41 because thats where the snow birds are. They aren't up and down i-75 at 5PM rush hour traffic getting off work.

What's not to believe? Do you even drive around here?

It took me 40 minutes to go the 11 miles from Corkscrew to Immokalee Rd on Friday afternoon at about the same time he was heading home. There were no accidents or any other reason than sheer volume on the SB side. It was far worse on the NB side, (bumper to bumper from Alico to at least Pine Ridge) so yeah, I believe him.

Heck, it's taken me every bit of 1:35 to get to RSW (30ish miles) in the middle of a weekday (not rush hour), because of a a collision on I75 just north of BBR. Traffic in North Naples was backed up on Immokalee Rd past 951 and down both Oakes and Logan to VBR. That same day, my friend was stuck in it on 41, where it was backed up to just south of Immokalee Rd for the same reason. For comparison, it took me 25 minutes to get home from RSW the night before.

Not to mention we have too much technology these days to avoid those messes. Just using Waze or Siri will get you through another route.
LOL... WHAT other route?

Siri usually doesn't even bother suggesting the one alternative to I75 during rush hour, unless it's completely shut down. Livingston/Imperial/3 Oaks is a complete mess (forget 41) when I75 backs up, and probably takes longer than just slugging it out on the interstate.

The worst traffic in all of SW FL is Cape Coral, season or not. 2 bridges in or out, they get completely backed up. I would bet that the majority of his traffic in that '1 hour 45 min commute' was in Cape Coral, not Naples or i-75
It was a 2 hour and 35 minute commute. 50 minutes of that was on the 6.5 miles from my house to exit 111, which is in Naples.

Unless you've got access to a certain DeLorean, you didn't do that in a car.......

I can't even make it from my house to KAPF in 22 minutes in the daytime....

I’ve tried driving a few times but .... It’s just too convenient to fly especially now they have the little phenom aircraft. Takes longer to get to Pine Ridge from the airport then it does to fly from Palm Beach

Nice...... A Phenom would make a nice little commuting rig for me, but not too cost effective. The $10m price tag plus hourly operating costs are a little steep at my pay rate. It'd be fun until it got repoed. ;-)
