Hubby and I would like to look at this area for retirement (down the road). After reading these helpful posts, it makes sense to rent a few places first. Need some suggestions please.
Like to Golf, no - hubby LOVES to Golf, shopping, good restaurants, active social game, kids in twenties will visit/come with. When we do buy looking at 250-400 range.
Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

Are you looking for a condo, coach home or SFH?

At the lower end of your range you can get a 1300 sq ft condo in Heritage Bay that has bundled golf. Usually a fair amount of rentals there, but it’s not close to the beach being a few miles east of I-75.

If you’re prepared to drive you will find good shopping and restaurants anywhere in Naples.

Park Shore Resort on VBRO can find you a an apartment not some motel room for $85 to 100 a night depending on when you visit , walk to grocery dinning and north end park shore beach access is pretty good place to stay . We stay there when we find a need to be back in the area .

Where to live !! Gooood luck . See what you find available on ZILLOW in your price range as a starting point .

My husband also LOVES to golf! We have been searching in Naples for awhile and have found golfing "in season" would be hard unless you belong to a golf club or live in a bundled golf community. We have zeroed in on Heritage Bay, it's a bundled golf community with a nice club house, pool, tennis and pickle ball. Good luck with your search!!

Seems like there should be golf courses with public access to keep a golfer happy for a while with 19 different course's .

We bought a 2bed/2bath 1200sqft condo in Cypress Woods for my Mom to eventually live in when she moves down from NJ in a couple of years. Bundled golf like Heritage Bay, much better location, a bit older (2005) and great amenities though not as grand as HB. Felt it was a much better value than HB for our purposes. Just finished renovations and will be listing with realtor for annual rental at end of week. Cypress Woods will be significantly less expensive than HB. It should definitely be on your radar, especially as a rental. Feel free to PM me for more info on CW.

Heritage Greens (S of Immokalee between Logan and Collier) may fit the bill for you nicely.

Arrowhead Golf Club is a public course (ultimately keeping HOA dues very reasonable for residents).

Homes include villas, coach homes, and single family units and offer an assortment of housing options within your price range. A stone's throw from shopping, restaurants, and services - and about 10-15 minutes to Delnor Wiggins.

The one downfall I'd mention is the traffic getting out onto Immokalee Rd. can be heavy....but that's kind of everywhere.

Golf now has rounds on private/semi-private courses some times and the PGA pass lets you play private courses all summer. In the last 3 months with my lil guy, we've played Worthington, Esplanade, Bonita National with upcoming rounds at Moorings, Naples Grande, Bear's paw
