I know it sux to lose jobs but these were dying brands and the COVID sped it up. Ruby Tuesday would be next. Perkins in Bonita on US 41 is gone.

Sadly Duffys might not re-open in Estero. They were always busy it seemed so that's surprising and its a well run brand from the East coast.

Yeah those were pre-Covid. Going forward, brands like Ruby will struggle. Sweet Tomatoes is the first chain I believe to go under nationally.

We loved Sweet Tomatoes and ate there every chance we had. They closed here in Jax some years back but Jason's Deli has a much better salad bar IMHO. Ruby is too pricey for us and the salad bar is not appealing. We like Red Robin once or twice a year. Boston Market is up against all the supermarkets that offer the same thing. in WNY we had chicken restaurant chain called Swiss Chalet, that was based in Canada. We went there for decades until rotisserie started appearing in local food stores for $5 or less. That was the beginning of the end. I remember Arthur Treachers, Chi-Chi's, Carols Hamburgers, The Red Barn, Howard Johnsons and other defunct restaurant chains.
