Hi, my mom is looking to move to Florida. We have family in Naples and Bradenton. She wants a 2 bedroom or bigger Somewhere in a nice town somewhat close to the beach. And possibly something with a community pool.

She used to have a nice townhouse in Delray Beach in the Pineapple Grove area and that was okay but she didn’t love it. It had a steep staircase which she didn’t like and It wasn’t very close to the beach. My sister and I did walk there but it took at least 20 minutes.
Any ideas?

Budget is 800,000-1,000,000.

Thanks in advance.

Condos by the beach? A gated community with walking trails and amenities but still have to drive to the beach? A townhome with garage on Vanderbilt Road with a quick drive to the beach?

We have them all in Naples, just have to be more specific so we can guide you to the right area.

The gated community with Trails is called Bay Forest - I've sold a few in there and its a great community of long term residents and snow birds, not many families with small kids but some are in there. Houses, condos and townhomes.

The budget is fine for what she wants.

If that is her budget, you'll have no problems. Just start looking On-line.

Check out Anna Maria Island where the towns of Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach provide for a charming small town feel with beautiful beaches, shops, restaurants etc and are also quite walkable/bikeable. https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...40dA%7B%40ePfM

Yes, Anna Maria Island is a hidden gem. It's gorgeous and has an old Florida feel. They have strict development controls. She'd have to be OK with a condo on that budget since its on a barrier island and very pricey but I'd take a look.

I view Sarasota as a more lively and more affordable version of Naples so that’s where I’d recommend. It may be possible to get a home on Siesta Key still for $1M.

Anna Maria Island is great, but it’s one of the most expensive barrier islands so the stated budget won’t be sufficient.

You'll get bored there unless you're a die hard beach person. Its a tourist town with many homes just doing weekly rentals.

Siesta Key is a good option since Sarasota is so close. Naples is going to be more ideal. Lots to do, very clean, low crime, in her budget, and a lot of people like her around to socialize with.

Are you implying there’s more to do in Naples than Sarasota?

Maybe so, in which case I’d agree. If he’s saying Naples has more to do than Sarasota I’d like to hear his case for that assertion.
