Just ran past this forum as I was checking out a condo that our friends invited us to share as we are visiting Naples...later we found out that is located in a neighborhood in east naples...and everyone is saying that it may not be safe...I hate to complain to our friends as they are excited and the condo was given to them for a week for free by a close friend that just purchased it. Is this area safe....oh my ...I feel so unsure about this trip that we were excited about...the adderess is 4615 Bayshore Dr. Abaco Bay...can anyone tell me more about this area? thanks

Bayshore Drive is not the best area in East Naples. Generally, east of Airport Pulling Road is better and has a lot of middle class areas. Calusa Park school district is highly rated, despite a very mixed ethnic and economically diverse population. There are a lot of developments in this area. Berkshires is a very family oriented development. There are others.

Keep your Cars locked up and avoid walking anywhere on Bayshore Drive, they have made the street look nice with fancy Medians and sidewalks but the Illegal immigrants on foot and on bicycles are still living there on Bayshore and its side streets.

That is a bad area of town.

BigMunch is on target. +1

The good news is there is nothing you'll want to walk to from there. You'll be OK for a week since you'll have to get in your car and leave the neighberhood to do anything.
