I find 3 megs to be pretty slow, but that's me.

If you had Comcast awhile back, then you had either 6 or 8 megs, or....you had their economy internet which is pretty slow. Less than 3 megs. I don't know what the economy is now. It's been adjusted up a bit, but it is still a lot less than 3 megs, as far as I know, so you probably never had anything faster to begin with. The point is moot though, since you no longer have it. But 12 megs is 12 megs and 3 is 3. The higher one doesn't go slower. That's like saying 2+2 is 5. Not happening. So you had an economy speed.

My thing is more about thier really bad customer service though. My internet speed is fine now with DSL. I HATE Comcast. Always have. Time Warner and Brighthouse are SO, SO, SO much better.

We've had Comcast's full deal here, for 5 seasons: HD/DVR TV, high speed Internet and phone.
All work very well...not cheap, as the deals are for the new add-on customers vs the existing
customers. As for "customer service", it is like any tech support: some are menu reader/order
takers, a few are very knowledgeable and, one can always get past the initial idiot and get to
a real techie, imo.

We just acquired Comcast digital phone/wireless (and wired) internet package here in Naples. I also went to the Comcast office and picked up a DVR box for the bedroom TV. Already I have had to have the modem and the cable box reset. Hope this is not a bad sign......

I'd like to think I was one of those. I worked for them for three years.

We just moved to Naples a month ago from Texas...decided to go with Comcast for internet and cable, and I'm wishing we didn't do that.

It's been AWFUL. All of it. The entire experience, every step of the way...excruciating. Awful customer service, poor experience so far with internet and cable...and then to cap everything off (it's actually only been 3 weeks so far here) we got a bill just now for $417 and change.

Hooray for their "30 Day Money Back Guarantee". We're outta here.

Anyone have experience with Verizon Fios in Naples? Looking for internet and HD TV stuff. Thanks in advance!

For anyone else interested in services available locally...

Fios is available in parts of Naples (not my part, waaaa)

CenturyLink is partnered with Fios somehow...they offered to transfer me, but mentioned that CenturyLink doesn't do TV, just internet.

Comcast is awful - avoid them like the plague.

I did not know Fios was in Naples. Do you know what part? I haven't seen any ads.

Century Link does TV AFAIK in all of Naples.

I got rid of CC TV and got DirecTV which is fantastic. I still have CC internet. I have Ooma for phone which is also fantastic.

Comcast will provide phone and internet as a new customer for $20 each for a year.
Both doo double after that but $40 isn't outrageous , comparatively speaking.
I do believe one can pay for higher speeds if into lots of stuff that needs it but that would be true with most.

The best part with Comcast is, for most services (there are a few exceptions) there is no contract needed.
You're unhappy? Switch... something you can't do easily if you signed up for two years for something else.
I've had excellent service with Comcast for the last 7 years.
A $417 bill????

I don't know what part of Naples has Fios, I was told by their customer service that it is available in some zip codes, and even in mine (34109)...but not specifically in my neighborhood. Bummer.

$417 bill...yeah - I ended up calling in on my 30 day guarantee, and after around 9 hours of phone time (total so far) with them, was told that the customer solutions team would see about completely getting rid of that bill and letting me start fresh with a zero balance (all of my services are now finally working pretty smoothly with Comcast).

That happened last week - no call back.

My guess is the bill is still there...and I've got hours more arguing with them in my near future. Goodie.
