Can someone help out with where some nice areas are on the West side of Nashville that would be around a 30 minute drive to Dickson? Bellevue, Cross Timbers? Any ideas? How is the far West side of Nashville? Any thoughts/input are very much appreciated. Thank you so much.

Bellevue would be a good starting point. Keep in mind that this part of the city was hit very hard during the flood, but it is still a good part of town to live. Pegram across the county line in Cheatham County might be worth a look too.

I grew up in West Meade, and this is a major factor in the memories of my hometown. The terrain varies from flat to rolling to steep forested hills, and if I moved back to the area, I'm sure I would buy a house in West Meade. I've read on this board complaints about the good shopping areas in Green Hills, Cool Springs, and even Bellvue with its formerly popular mall are a pain to get to from there. But the north periphery of West Meade is quick to I-40 and retail on the West Nashville strip (Charlotte Rd.) although not what you would call high end retail. Even my old neighborhood at Currywood & Robin Hill is maybe only 10~12 minutes to the I-40 access in Bellvue. Speaking of Bellvue, similar terrain to West Meade, but with apartment complexes, and fewer 1 acre lots. Bellvue built up in the '70's, West Meade in the '50's

Fairview is in Williamson County and is about 20 min. from Bellevue and 20 min. from Dickson off I-40. The schools are excellent. Homes are less expensive than Bellevue and most lots are at least a half an acre.
