Hello all!

My family and I are considering relocating to Clarksville, TN, as my husband was recently offered a position working on Ft. Campbell. We currently live in WI and miss the south terribly.

We have 4 children, 1 that will be starting high school this year, the rest in elementary school. I am a social worker, although am considering going back to school to obtain my Masters. Any suggestions on best places to live? (by this I mean low crime, not afraid to let your children go outside to play, and within 30 min. drive of Ft. Campbell) Best schools? We would prefer something in a more rural area as oppose to downtown living.

I have been looking at Austin Peay University for myself. Any feedback on the university or MSW program would be great also! Any suggestions as to where I might look for work? Thanks in advance for all input!

Welcome to Clarksville and Fort Campbell. Many great places in Clarksville and Montgomery County to raise a Family. 30 minute radius will put you in the Exit 8 to Exit 11 area of Clarksville.

Exit 8 area is referred to as Rossview and also home of Rossview Elementary, Middle and High School - all of which are relatively new schools. Many established nieghborhoods, but also some new developements going up thanks to the HSC Corporate Development.

Exit 11 area is referred to as Sango and home of Sango and Barksdale Elementary, Richview Middle and Clarksville High. Like the Rossview area, many established neighborhoods as well as some new developments.

Both areas are within 10 minutes to Austin Peay depending on where you choose to live.

Welcome again - if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.
