My wife and I are driving to TN from VA and will stay a few nights in Nashville. We are going to go the Ryman Auditorium for the Ricky Skaggs, Mark Wills, and Sawyer Brown show on 17 Sep. We have never been to Nashville before. My wife is 5'1" and I am 6'. I am trying to decide which seats will be best for her to see.

We can be Section 1 Row G seats 5/6, Section 1 Row J seats 1/2 (aisle seats), or balcony Section 12 Row B seats 3/4.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

If she's 5'1", I would definitely go for the balcony seats. At least you can look down onto the stage rather than having people standing right in front of you.
The Ryman isn't that big, so you aren't a mile away from the stage.
You may want to bring or buy seat cushions, though. The seats are all wooden pews and get really uncomfortable after the first hour.

Although there are not really any bad seats in the house (even last row on the floor are acceptable), the first few rows of the balcony are best IMHO.

Thank you both for your quick reply. I bought us Section 12 Row B Seats 1 & 2 so that she has balcony as well as aisle seating. I am sure we will love it.

You will...everyone should see a concert at the Ryman once in their lifetime.

I had a really bad experience once sitting in the last row of the floor. I'm 6'2 and the crowd stood most of the show. The balcony is the perfect height to block the view of the stage of anyone 5'10 or taller when standing. Oh well.

That said, I know the OP already has his seats, but the balcony is probably the best for an unobstructed view...but sitting in rows A-J on the floor should be completely unobstructed too.

Just bought tickets for Glen Campbell. What a freakin' pain the butt experience. Seemed at the start like it was sold out and now of course tickets are on StubHub for $200 a pop.

Anyway, the best I could do is front row balcony BUT they are the absolute farthest seats to the left of the stage. Last 3 seats in that row. They aren't showing as limited view. Does anyone know the Ryman well enough to tell me to pay the $200 and get better seats or will these be tolerable???

Thanks . . . .

I *think* you'll be okay. I've sat on the main floor at the farthest to the left before and not had any issues with sightlines. I would imagine the balcony will be the same way.

Yikes...$200 for Glen Campbell?

Up to $265 on StubHub. Ryman holds 2300 people and my guess is at LEAST 700 tickets are now 2nd market. The seats I bought via the Ryman site were $39.50 (plus taxes, surcharges, delivery . . . blah, blah, blah . . . ).

Thanks!
