Hey all..
We will be visiting in a few weeks and I want to visit a church Sunday morning. I am looking at The People's Church in Franklin or Crosspoint in Nashville..I love a contemporary church with a great pastor and a great worship team. Any thoughts on those 2 churches? Also..we are staying in Franklin/Cool Springs so any other recommendations close to there would be great..Thanks~

I'm a traditionalist, so I don't like those kinds of services. But friends of mine LOVE Fellowship Bible on Franklin Road

Fellowship Bible Church

and Gracepoint Church a little farther south on Franklin Rd.

But if you're looking for a church with bands, large media screens, lots of family programs and a coffee bar, then you're on the right track. HUGE congregations. Not my thing either, Wmsn, but they must have something that appeals to people. We're lucky to have so many choices here. Something for everyone.

Hope you find the perfect place!

I'll second Gracepointe. I, too, am not a fan of MegaChurches but I know 2 people who go to Gracepointe and have good things to say about it.

Fellowship is a pretty big congregation. I don't think GracePoint is BIG. They have a very charismatic (not in the religious sense) pastor who drew followers from another church. They don't have a huge youth program, but they're trying.

I say I am traditional b/c I prefer the more ceremonial service. I don;t like praise music and I'm not a hand-raiser. I go to a HUGE church, but I wish it weren't so big.

Sorry for the tangent.

The two I mentioned seem to be the most "real" churches that weren't started by a music-industry wannabe with a huge ego. Some of the new "congregations" around here are just that.

If you are still looking, People's Church is great!. Yes, it's big, and has contemporary style. There are great classes to get involved with, a wonderful children's program and wonderful pastor!
