Employment opportunity for both the Verizon Call Center (in Murfreesboro) and T-Mobile Call Center (in Nashville) has come available. I'd like to know what you've heard in regards to company culture for each of these call centers (basicaly which one might be the better choice according to what you have heard from either people that you know WORK there or USE TO WORK there). Both jobs do the exact same thing, sitting taking calls for a wireless provider, just was wondering if anyone has any feedback to give.

Thanks in advance.

nHeads up: If you have a degree, neither is likely to hire you. I applied for a call center rep with both companies. I have two degrees, one in English and the other in Spanish. Both companies told me that I was too qualified to work at the call center. I was teaching high school and decided to take some time off from the students and parents, you know, work on other aspects of my life.Verizon was in 2008 and T-mobile was this year. You would think a person with two degrees in communcation would be an asset to the company, but they think otherwise.

They probably think you would want more than they'd be willing to pay you. I've never worked in a call center but from reading from people that have it seems like a job most people wouldn't want; not that the pay is bad (I have no idea how much it is) but just dealing with pissed off people all day.

My cousin works for Verizon. He does IT work from home and goes in the office every so often(I'm not sure hoe often). I don't know if he works in the call center since I'm not that familiar with IT work. I do know that he does have a degree and that he's worked for them for many years. He seems happy working for them though...

NOT true at all. I know of a few people with college degrees that work/worked there and some love it and some hate it.
