Please help me, my BYE date is up in TN and I got miss-information from the Dept of Labor, don't know where else to turn (employment)

My BYE date is up, which means I've been on unemployment for 1 year. I am also in the middle of Tier 2. I need your advice please, I went to the Dept. of Labor and they were not of any help. Here is what transpired today:

I am in Tennessee, so it goes without saying that I've never been able to access a human being over the unemployment phone line. I went to my counties Dept of Employment and the guy there just didn't want to bother to deal with my questions. He said that I should just make a new claim over the internet site despite the letter I got from the state that advised calling or actually going to an employment location.

I know if I apply on line incorrectly that I can cause my benefits to stop or be delayed, I'm in the middle of tier 2, any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I am so trying to find work, I sold my ford thunder bird (first new car I'd ever bought) in December in order to pay off all my cc. I've got a BA and and MS, I feel really scared and alone right now. I have worked since I was 15 I worked my way through school. I'm nor on UE because I am lazy.

I look for work every day, but I need my tier 2 to just keep the wolves from my door.
