Can anyone reccomend a nice upscale ish restaurant for Christmas eve dinner? No chains; mostly well dressed; Christmas eve buffett or a good seafood menu a plus. Thanks.

Sperry's comes to mind...both the Cool Springs and Belle Meade locations will be open Christmas Eve. I believe reservations are required.

Good call, bmrisko. Sperry's would be a great choice. They're more of a steak kind of place, but they probably have seafood too.

I've heard great things about Eastland Cafe in East Nashville. Germantown Cafe (http://www.germantowncafe.com/menu.php - broken link) in Germantown off of Jefferson St. would also be a good choice as well. Great views of downtown at Germantown.

Thanks...they do actually have a fairly extensive seafood selection, in addition to steaks and other cuts of meat.

Swordfish, Halibut, Salmon, Trout, Tuna, Lobster, King Crab, etc just to name a few. Also, the interior of the restaurants is amazing. If you have never been, you're in for real a treat.

I have also heard good things about Germantown Cafe.

I stand corrected. I have always ordered the blackened ribeye, which is fantastic.

If you are looking for something a little more formal, you might consider The Standard as well (The Standard at the Smith House). An absolute classic here in Nashville where traditional southern delicacies like Steak Diane are prepared - table side - to perfection.

There are plenty of choices in the West End/Vandyland area. No Cracker Barrel here.

That reminds me, Bricktops would be a good choice. It's technically a chain but I think they only have about 3 locations.
