The pictures look like a stage at the end of a field.

Doesn't really look like an "amphitheater" at all. has anybody seen a show there yet? The list of concerts upcoming is very impressive.

I don't think there's been an outdoor show there yet?

Some of "Country Strong" was filmed there. My husband worked on that movie. We're wondering how you park 4500 cars there?? Do you have to take their free downtown shuttle to get there?

I am really looking forward to seeing a show there. I love smaller sized amphs like this and cannot believe it has taken this long for Nashville to get one....I plan to go to the STP show on May 1st, and possibly to see Steve Martin. I've never been there so I have no idea what the parking situation is like but the website says there is parking on site. In the limited pictures I've seen it looks like a small version of the Gorge Amph in Washington.....which is the best in the country IMO.

The "rain or shine" part worries me.

That is typical of any outdoor venue. They will only cancel or postpone if there is severe weather. A little rain never keeps me from enjoying a concert!

They have a pretty large parking lot at the foot of the hill next to the restaurant. But no way could it accomodate cars for 4,500 people. Maybe 700.

Starwood (an actual amphitheater) had a roof over the reserved seats. I can't imagine trying to watch and listen to a state-of-the-art rock group like Steely Dan through a bunch of umbrellas in a field in the rain shower. As a matter of fact I already bought tickets to see them in a more "TPAC" type venue elsewhere on the tour. If the weather forecast looks favorable the night of the Chicago show, I might go to that one. Los Lonely Boys should be a heck of an opening act.

I went to an evening show a few months ago. I think it was a charity event. It was pouring rain and the VIPs were all huddled under a giant tent in the back. The non-VIPS were on the grass making do with umbrellas and whatever they could hide under. Did not look fun, and when a security guard mentioned that there had been a tornado warning we decided we'd had enough amusement for the evening.

OK, barring another rain storm like we had tonight, I am going to see Steely Dan tomorrow night at the Fontanel. Has anyone been there this summer? Wondering what the concession stands sell? Doesn't look like there is much in the way of restaurants near the venue aside from the one onsite.

I am GUESSING it's hot dogs and beer but hey, maybe something different?
