Hi! I am hoping to move to nashville over the summer and work in the berry hill area. I am 21 and looking for a 1bedroom apartment in an area that is not too expensive but safe and fun. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Check Craigslist for rentals in the Belmont/12 South area. It is pretty safe, less than 5 minutes from Berry Hill, and less expensive than other "fun" areas such as Hillsboro Village, The Gulch, etc.

You'll have to outline what not too expensive is for your personal budget. Is expensive over a grand or is your idea of expensive over 500? It varies for everyone so to get an idea of where you'd be able to find an affordable apartment, we need to know your budget.

Thanks for the advice. Budget wise I am thinking between 500-600. maybe 650 max. Does that give you a better idea?

some of the places i have found are The Residences at Stonebrook, Arbors of Brentwood, The Summit, Twin Oaks. All of these are in the Antioch, Brentwood and Forrest hill. What do you think?

The Residences at Stonebrook is Turtle Creek Apartments, which had about as bad of a reputation as any apartment complex in Middle Tennessee. They changed their name to escape that reputation, but a turd by any other name is still a turd. Move there if you enjoy being near underage sex slave operations, rampant drug dealing, and not a word of English.

I would also scratch The Summit and Twin Oaks off my list if I were you. They are leaps and bounds ahead of Stonebrook/Turtle Creek on the quality scale, but neither is located in the best area for a young, single female who lists safety as one of her main priorities.

The Arbors of Brentwood is a decent complex in a decent area. While you're in that neck of the woods, also check out Brentwood Oaks, The Preserve, and Mission Brentwood. Not that it really matters, but none of these apartments are actually in Brentwood; it's just a marketing ploy. Avoid the nearby complexes Brandywine and Bradford Woods.

Add Brentwood Downs to Pimpy's list. They have an awesome gym, would save you a gym membership.
Ditto avoid Brandywine.
