Our investigation trip is all set and booked (car, air, hotel!). We are staying at the Hyatt at Cool Springs (got a great name your own price rate from Priceline! yay!). Are there any foodie favorites we should try while down there? Not the typical chains but local places or even local/Southern chains that you love? We are there for 4 days and will need to grab lunch and dinner all four days!! We will also plan to travel to Brentwood, Nashville and maybe Hendersonville.

Thanks!

Wild Ginger right across the street from your hotel is a really great Asian fusion place.

This recent thread covers this topic pretty well...

If you don't mind a lot of uppity women wearing hats, The Puffy Muffin has delicious lunch fare and this is coming from someone who hasn't even dared to try their desserts/baked goods yet. They are located in Brentwood, TN, which is not a bad drive from Cool Springs.

Puckett's is a great suggestion.

I'd like to add Franklin Mercantile for a good spot in downtown. I haven't had a bad meal there, and they're running a great deal with 2 salads, 2 entrees, 1 desert, and a bottle of wine for $40. Great deal for a couple. It's not "romantic", btw...very casual.

For straight up pub food, McCreary's Irish Pub is a good choice.

Oh, and for breakfast, try Merridee's Breadbasket downtown, or the Henpeck Market south of town (Goose Creek Bypass exit).

Wow. Well, anyway, they made me take off my hat when I went there last time.

I always forget about Franklin Mercantile. When our kids visit that is their fave lunch place.

For dinner we also enjoy Criallo's in Franklin. It's kind of hidden down by Sprintz furniture store. Very good food and jazz music every night.
