so on our trip were going to be based in brentwood...

were hoping to eat out our first night there (weds 20th) but would love to find somewhere with a nice atmosphere, "pub" style food (simple but good and a nice price) and mabe some live music?

i know, mid week isnt exactly a typical "live act night" (least in my area) but it would be great if there is a good spot. country, jazz ect.
thoughts?

There are some good suggestions in this recent thread:

//www.city-data.com/forum/nashv...we-really.html

Judge Bean's BBQ on Church Street in Brentwood is a tiny hole in the wall, but they have good Texas barbecue and live music the night you arrive.

This guy is playing:

It's a fun atmosphere, and the brisket tacos are amazing.

Simple but good and at a nice price would seem to fit the description of Cross Corner Bar and Grill near the Brentwood Kroger.

No live music, but it's a sports bar with a decently active (yet family friendly) atmosphere. The food is good -- not great -- but worth what they charge. Typically you're looking at $7-10 entrees + the cost of drinks.

Second this suggestion for something convenient to do in the Brentwood area!

There's always live music in Nashville, and you often catch the better shows mid-week in my opinion.

For a true Nashville experience complete with live music and food, make reservations for the Bluebird Cafe one night. Not a rowdy pub (their motto is "SHHHH"), but they have good food and it's a chance to see both legendary and up and coming songwriters.

You can't come to Nashville without spending some time in the bars on lower Broadway. Live music in every bar, mostly up and coming singers performing covers in a good time atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants around the area, too.

Other places you might enjoy: Station Inn, 3rd and Lindsley, Douglas Corner Cafe, Commodore Grill... all have great live music and full menus...

You might consider Papa Boudreaux Cajun Cafe. They just had their grand opening on April 13 for their new location in Franklin at 328 Main Street. This is where I am headed for sure when I come out to TN next month!

The Sante Fe location is a bit out there in the country and hard to find, but so worth it. You have to get there early if you don't want to wait for hours, but then you miss the music. And it is BYOB (beer or wine) If you like Louisiana Cajun the food is to die for (which I almost did....I thought for sure my tummy would explode because I could not stop eating)

The Franklin location will be much easier to get to, and they serve beer (you can Brown Bag your own wine). Also, its got to be larger (table wise)...the Sante Fe location could be called "The Squeeze In" haha. Love it!

The Opryland Hotel is the sight to see there. There really is nothing else to see when you are on that side of town unless you plan to be there on a Saturday night for a Midnite Jamboree show at the Texas Troubadour Theater.
MIDNITE JAMBOREE & SPECIAL EVENTS

FYI: parking at the hotel is $18. You can get validated parking if you eat at one of the restaurants or spend lots of $$ at the gift shops.

Or park in the mall parking lot for free and take the path that leads over to the hotel. They've even reopened the gate to the path they put up after the flood, so it's not a bad walk at all.
