Does anyone know if Hayashi Japanese buffet in Franklin is also opening a 2nd location in Hendersonville?

Yes. It will be located in the shopping center with the Family Fun Center.

I think, however, that this area is ridiculous. Only a year ago there were 2 Chinese Buffets: 1 in the shopping center which is now becoming Hayashi and one in the parking lot which was Lake City Grill and is now becoming another Chinese Buffet!

2 Asian Buffets within 25 feet of each other is not a good idea, IMO. It didn't work last year and I doubt it will work this year.

Thanks for the info. That IS completely ridiculous. Hayashi is really good though and would be hard to beat.

Hayashi is not a chinese buffet like you normally think of it. It's mainly a sushi bar buffet. It's delicious.

I think the main problem with that shopping center is that it is so dated people overlook it. That's why businesses don't make it there. A good face lift I bet would do wonders. The same goes for the Aldi's shopping center next door and the Hazel Path Commons strip mall at Bonita Parkway.

I wouldn't call it a "good" location. It is also near Fortune House Chinese Restaurant which has been in business for decades. I'm all for having more selections (especially sushi) in Hendersonville, but that part of Hville is not very attractive at all.

On the other hand, there already are Japanese/sushi restaurants at a couple key locations. First is the one in Indian Lake near the theater. Another is Hana sushi further north near Trinity Music City. Likewise there's China Buffet and Fulin's in Indian Lake. So, in some way, I guess there'd be saturation level in other parts of town too. I'd think Glenbrook would be the best choice from a saturation perspective...but even there is a Genghis Grill which is pseudo Asian.

I wish we had a Vietnamese or Thai restaurant in Hville...

Just ate at Hayashi tonight for dinner and it's WONDERFUL!! There's crab legs too!

Also got info that the other Asian buffet (25 ft next door) ISN'T going to open.
