Where is a good place to park if you want to attend one of the street fairs in downtown Franklin?

We always park in Pinkerton Park and walk across the bridge into downtown Franklin the back way along 3rd and Margin.

I reckon I need to google Pinkerton Park. Haven't seen that yet (maybe I have and it didn't register).

Not sure I trust Garmin. She has taken me on a couple of strange trips this week.

Ya, I hate GPSs. Pinkerton Park is the huge park on the north side of Murfreesboro Road/Hwy 96/3rd Avenue South as you head into downtown Franklin.
If you park in the main parking lot, there's a pedestrian bridge at the back of the park that goes across the river and connects with 1st Ave.

If you Google map it and do satellite view, you'll see it.

We have 2 free parking garages downtown. Try those.

When do the streets close to traffic for festivals downtown?

Some of them will close on Friday, which is why I don't park in the garages. I park with "getting out" in mind, so I don't mind walking farther.

Main Street Fest this weekend is one of the more popular events, so it will be packed.

Default Rodeo parade parking and viewing?

Wmsn4Life, akm4, and anyone else who know:

I assume the same parking advice applies to the rodeo parade - but where is a good place to view the parade for a family w/ a child w/ a disability?

Just sit anywhere along the curb in the square, but it usually only comes up 3rd Ave North from Bridge Street, then turns right and goes down West Main in front of the Mellow Mushroom and the theatre. So don't sit down by Baskin Robbins or you'll miss it.
I would arrive at least by 11:30 to stake out a spot.
Everybody down there will have kids, so it's not like one place is better than another. As long as your're on that parade route, you'll be fine.

THANK YOU!

An article in the Tennessean says the route has changed this year. Am trying to figure it out in my head; need to find a map.

I figure we'll go earlier than 11:30; my band member has to be at school well before that and we'll probably try to find a parking place after we deliver the middle schooler to school.

Do people take chairs? Sounds short enough to stand through.
