Hey everybody --

Thanks so much for your comments. I'm happy to learn that it's not just me. Today, I had to drive from Mt Juliet to Crossville and back -- and it happened twice on the ride to Crossville and one on the ride back home.

I think it's probably not just a Nashville thing. However, for whatever reason, it's just since I've been here that I've become really aware of it.

Yall stay safe out there.

I think it must be an I-40 thing...

Have you been riding with me?

I definitely agree with that. I used to do Memphis to Knoxville several times a year and there are huge stretches of I-40 where cruise control is more hassle than it's worth!

Please tell me the intersections that this occurs at. I'd love to see even one car pull into an intersection after a green arrow goes off.

People down here just sit behind the line after the arrow turns off, wait through an entire green light, let it go red, then turn left when the green arrow comes back.

Ugh.

One intersection was on 96 near I-65. My light was green to go, but I could not proceed until the four or five cars drafting one another completed the left hand turn from the cross street to my right.

I agree. While I've seen this happen just about everywhere in the country it does seem to happen an awful lot on I-40 between Memphis and Knoxville and on into NC. I just laugh and roll my eyes when it does happen to me and chalk it up to NASCAR mentality.

I think everyone is on their cell phone and it's only when you pass them that they realize they have been going too slow. You can always tell people are on the phone . . . . . not legal where I come from!!! (but everybody does it)

Ugh.
Wedgewood at 8th Ave S. I see this happen everyday with those turning south onto 8th. There is regularly 3-4 cars going through on the orange/red cycle. I find this behavior amusing.

This is standard practice everywhere I have ever driven, except Nashville.

Charlotte and White Bridge Avenue is another intersection where these left turn light runs are just rampant.
