I think the sign is still up. Still no activity though.

What about the credit union that was going to be built on the corner adjacent to the Sumner Bank and Trust?
No word on this either, except that the lot adjacent to Sumner Bank is cleared now for the Sam's Club. So I imagine it is coming.

I'm glad to hear that construction is picking up again on Indian Lake. I remember seeing the original master plan back in 2006-2007 before the housing market tanked and it was pretty ambitious. I think the Sam's Club will bring needed traffic to that area.
Definitely. It is exciting to see new buildings come up. But disappointing since most of the outlets are of absolutely no interest to me.

Is there any chance of "better" retailers like Banana Republic and Pottery Barn coming to Hendersonville/Streets at Indian Lake?

I was there tonight. Like the live band concept outside. Plus the 2x/mth farmers market sounds neat. I have not gone to it yet.

They need to get September's refilled though.

I can see Banana Republic but Pottery Barn is doubtful. I believe they closed their Green Hills store this year.

a McDonalds is going up across Sam's club. There's some small retail space going up in a separate building next to it.

I want a Whole Foods but I am not getting my hopes up.

The farmer's market is a great success...quite a surprise, I think.

I have heard a rumor (that's all I think it is, but who knows) that a PF Chang's may go into the September's spot. I am skeptical for 2 reasons...first is competition. While I'm sure PF Chang's would be a much bigger draw than the Japanese restaurant less than 100 yards from that location and would probably run it out of business and I'm sure it would do as well or better than Fulin's (about 1/4 mile away), the fact is they would have competition at that location. Second is the location itself. It is hard to park there...you have to walk a ways before getting to the restaurant. It's not conducive to being an anchor spot for a high traffic restaurant.

So while I think the PF Chang's model could work there, I think it would work only because of the restaurant's popularity and not because it is a prime location for a Amerasian restaurant.

I'd love a Whole Foods too. I definitely could see a demand for it...but I won't hold my breath either.

Now that the city has opened the door for a few more liquor/wine stores in the area (2 if memory serves) I would assume there will be at least one higher-end wine store open up in this area. If not, someone is really missing out on an opportunity I think.

I have heard the PF Chang rumors, too. I would like to see them there, although I agree, its not the best location due to parking issues. There are most likely 2 too many restaurants in the area right around (within crossing street) Fulin's. Cheddars is not often busy anymore; Chili's is on and off, my hunch is 2 of the group within view of Wal Mart fail to survive..perhaps unless/until hampton Inn builds to add some extra traffic for them, and/or more offices are utilized to add lunch crowd.

hopefully people have become tired of average food. even though it's cheap, maybe they are wanting more.

i'm sure we'll get a five guys eventually. I don't eat burgers very often and they are expensive.

i'd like to see a real wood fired pizza place where Brixx is located.

bonefish grill and the cheesecake factory are other options for the september's building. chains don't excite me much so i'm not following it closely. i guess i'd be okay with j. alexanders.

The monthly lease on the old September's building is supposedly astronomical. Very few restaurants would be viable in that location...

Amen to that. Cheddars' success boggles the mind.

I could see that too. They seem to be sprouting up everywhere these days. Of course, Cheeburger Cheeburger is coming on New Shackle...but a 5 Guys in Indian Lake makes a lot of sense.

Agreed. Or a Pizzeria Uno.

Yeah, either one of those would be good choices there too. It will have to be something a little more upscale and something that people won't mind walking to since the parking stinks.

I bet you're right. It's just such an odd location. It's cool, but strange.
