I'm in a rut with the Cool Springs offerings (although tried a new one Thursday, Swanky Taco). There is a similar post about just drives, but now I want a "reward" for my driving.

So, I am looking for little hidden gems, OR dives with good food, within a 45 minute drive from downtown Nashville. It can be 20 minutes, or 35 minutes but I think 45 would be the max.

Have been out to Leipers Fork and eaten at the Country Boy Restaurant which is quaint with cute waiters . . . . and fried pie which we did not order.

Any other suggestions?

Have you tried Papa Boudreaux's? It's in Sante Fe. I've been there once and the food and atmosphere were great but other people I know say it can be very hit or miss.

Miller's Grocery in Christiana, Bell Buckle Cafe in Bell Buckle, Uncle Buds or Martin's BBQ both in Nolensville are a few that come to mind quickly. You should try Pucket's in Leipers Fork as well.

If you could broaden it to a smidgen more than 45 minutes, I'll recommend the Coppertop restaurant at Center Hill Marina. It's a floating restaurant on Center Hill Lake that serves catfish caught fresh out of the lake, homemade BBQ, homemade pies, and more. It's a beautiful drive and is in a gorgeous location.

Miller's Grocery in Christiana is a good suggestion.

Here in Murfreesboro we have some different places:

The Cedar Bucket on Middle Tennessee Blvd. is a meat & 3 as is Jeff's Family Friendly Restaurant - Home

come on out on a Saturday morning for the farmer's market on the town square and have some breakfast or lunch at the City Cafe

Say hello when you come to town.

Mt Pleasant Grille. Great food and it's retro-50's decor. Have a great Sunday brunch. Also Square Market Cafe, Columbia. You could see the Polk Home and have lunch after
