Slim Chickens chain is coming to Hendersonville and MtJ too:

source: The Tennessean

Slim Chickens, a chain with more than 70 locations in 11 states, has plans to build new restaurants in Mt. Juliet and Hendersonville.

The Mt. Juliet planning commission recently approved a Slim Chickens at 4161 N. Mt. Juliet Road near the Mt. Juliet Dental Group building, just south of the Lebanon Road intersection.

Hendersonville approved a Slim Chickens at 218 E. Main Street last year, according to the city’s planning staff.

Construction on the Hendersonville restaurant is expected to start within the next month or two with an estimated opening late in 2019, said Harold Wallace of Life Changing Hospitality.

Building on the Mt. Juliet restaurant is projected to start in late fall with plans to open in 2019, possibly in the first quarter, Wallace said.

The Slim Chickens menu includes chicken tenders, wings, grilled wraps and handmade dipping sauces.

Mt. Juliet Commissioner Ray Justice felt the restaurant will be a good addition to the city’s north side.

“We’re starting to grow because rest of city has grown out and things are coming our way because there no more room,” Justice said.

Slim Chickens opened in 2003 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

There is one other Middle Tennessee Slim Chickens restaurant in Murfreesboro that opened in April 2016.

Wallace described the Murfreesboro Slim Chickens as "very successful," and pointed to regional growth coinciding with more restaurants.

"It took a little more time than we wanted to find other locations, but now (we're) starting to have some real estate wins and great partners helping find locations," Wallace said.

Slim Chickens has about 25 restaurants now open in Texas and approximately 14 in Arkansas, according to its website.

Good chicken seems to be the IN thing now, Zaxbys, Chic-fil-a, Bojangles.
The Wallace's live a couple houses over from me and they are very nice people.
Hope this works out for them.

It does. They mentioned a few years ago that piri piri chicken would be making it's debut in the Nashville region but they have since canceled plans. Humdingers also closed their Brentwood location, so I don't see them coming either. Chick fil et has a very strong grip on the region.
