Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice. We are thinking of spending the week between Christmas and New Year's in Nashville as a vacation. My husband and I will have our 5 kids with us, ages 23, 21, 20, 15 and almost 14. Everyone enjoys country music and southern rock and pop music. I'm looking for recommendations for places to go. Can our younger kids get into the clubs that offer live music, if they are with us? Or do they have to be 21? Do most have cover charges? Do they start the music early? I don't want the younger ones to be around the bar atmosphere too late, when things can get a bit out of hand...

We hope to find several different venues to try, and are hoping we can find several that are free. We are looking forward to the free Bash on Broadway for New Year's Eve... we love Phil Vassar. Does anyone have any advice about that event? (Drinking for us will not be a concern.)

We might try to go the Zac Brown Band concert. Any other fun places to recommend? I read many negative reviews about Cadillac Ranch, so we probably will not go there.

Also, are there any great go-kart/laser tag/arcade-type establishments for a day of fun for the younger kids?

Finally, we are currently looking for a place to rent for the week. Where in the city would you recommend we locate? I know the New Year's Eve party is downtown, but it might be preferable for us to stay somewhere else and just commute for that part.

Sorry for the long post.... thank you for any advice... we're looking forward to a "Country Christmas."

Be sure to go to the Opryland Hotel which will be all decorated. There are some shows there that your family may also enjoy. Here's their website: Nashville Hotels - Nashville, TN Hotel Deals - Tennessee Hotels - Tennessee Hotel Packages

Hi,
I have been looking online, and there seems to be very little scheduled for the week between Christmas and New Year's. Can we expect to have a lot of different live music acts, or does everything shut down until the new year? This is really the only week we can schedule our visit due to work complications, but I don't want to spend the money to come for the week if there will be little going on. Thoughts, anyone?
