Hi there, I've decided to bring my folks over for Christmas in Nashville for the said period but I will be needing ideas what to do/where to bring them/etc.

Help badly needed. The purpose is to be together celebrating, hence, a Titans game is not a sure bet for that cause. (Oops, don't shoot me ) So no sports. Would also appreciate the free ones (open to public) or minimal cost, though I wouldn't mind choosing 1 event that is max of $100/person including tax.

I'm sure gonna bring them to Opry Hotel. I've heard of antebellum mansions though not sure how to get there. Also, have heard of Rockettes in Grand Ole Opry. Also of a Christmas parade in Broadway (?)and when?

The Nashville Christmas parade is Dec. 2, so that won't be an option.

This topic has been covered a lot recently. Just click on these links:

Your best bet will be to zero in on a couple of options that sound good to you and then go to their websites to see what is happening that week.

For antebellum homes, Belmont Mansion has a Christmas tour.
Christmas at Belmont Mansion | Belmont Mansion | Nashville Wedding Venue | Nashville Museum | Nashville Outdoor Ceremony Venue| Nashville Reception Venue | Nashville Tourist Attraction | Nashville Historic Site | Nashville House Museum | Elope in Nas
It is closed the 24th and 25th, but it is open that week and is centrally located in Nashville.
From what I can tell, most of the other mansions like The Hermitage and Carnton in Franklin have their holiday events before Christmas.

You also can look around this website:

Christmas Activities & Attractions | Welcome to My Tennessee Christmas

You'll need to narrow it down to Nashville, of course.

Be warned that the Opryland Hotel, while definitely a must-see, can be deceptively costly. If you park you'll have to pay about $15. And, of course, while it's free to walk and look if you want to eat or drink while you're there, the prices are inflated. Likewise, the specialty exhibits like Ice and Snow (not sure if they're doing that this year or not), and the Rockettes all cost extra too. That said, I think it's well worth it to check out...but keep in mind it can be a drain on your wallet if you do everything there. You can keep the cost down by just walking through the hotel and paying the $15 fee to park.

If you're looking for something arts-related, there's the Frist Center downtown that has a cool Egyptian exhibit right now. Not exactly "festive" but a good change of pace. Tickets are $10 for adults and kids and seniors have discounts. Likewise, Centennial Park/The Parthenon might be a good choice too. The Parthenon is worth checking out...there's usually an exhibit in the basement and then of course is the massive statue of Athena in the main room. Not sure of the cost, but it is reasonable. The park is lit up at night...not a spectacular display, but lights nonetheless.

I'd also recommend driving by the State Capitol to see the State Christmas Tree and then driving a few blocks down to Riverfront Park to see the City's Christmas Tree. It also might be kind of fun to park and then take a horsedrawn carriage on Broadway at night around downtown if you've never visited here before.

Finally, if you're here for New Years Eve, they drop a guitar on Broadway and 2nd at the Hard Rock Cafe at midnight. Last year there were quite a few people that flooded the streets to celebrate. Its becoming a tradition but it is only about 2 years old or so.

Hope that helps.
