I will Need a Safe Area Hotel/Motel around Nashville. I will be driving thru alone and want a reasonably safe area. I will be coming in on I24 and continuing on I24 to Florida. Any suggestions in a safe area appreciated. Thanks

That area is east Nashville, I would wait until you were south of Nashville , hopefully some of the locals can tell you a little more.

I suggest you stop at the Clarksville rest area/visitor center near MM1. There should be a brochure with discount prices. Depending on the time of day, you may need to stay near there. There are other name hotels near the Old Hickory & I-65 Brentwood area. All should be safe. Some have meal tickets to a nearby location. Old Hickory would take you back to I-24 & continue your journey to Florida. Other drivers would have you continue south on I-65 to Birmingham & avoid the traffic in Atlanta.

I've been inside almost all of the hotels in the East Nashville area (pizza delivery) and would agree that there are better (and cheaper) areas to stay in. If you want a safer location I'd take Briley Parkway around Nashville (head east) and stay in any of the smaller hotels near Opryland or further down off of Elm Hill Pike. There are cheaper options further away from the city as well.

Are you coming through on a weekday? If so, I would suggest continuing southeast to Murfreesboro (30 miles SE of Nashville on 24), so you avoid morning traffic when you continue on your way.

...unless you plan on stopping here for a little bit. Whatever the case, do NOT stay anywhere near Trinity Lane.

What about Smyrna ? There appears to be a Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, etc there ? I'd get off I24 at Exit 66A. Thanks

The Smyrna Sam Ridley Parkway exit would be good, and there are plenty of restaurants and gas stations right there too.

Agreed...I would definitely suggest pushing on through Nashville and stopping in Smyrna or Murfreesboro for the night to avoid rush hour traffic the next morning. Sam Ridley is a good spot to stop at as Wmsn4Life pointed out. A little further east (about 8 miles or so) you'll find the Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro. There's a nice new Embassy Suites there. The main Murfreesboro exit (Highway 96/Old Fort Parkway) has many hotels on the main strip there. Both of those exits are safe and have plenty of restaurant choices as well.

Smyrna/Murfreesboro is a good shot. I've stayed at the Wyndham off Medical Center exit, super nice for the price!
