So myself 27/m and gf 22/f are moving to Nashville from Minneapolis as I just got offered a Internship at BlackBird Studio's and I simply could not pass it up. Currently we have a pre lease at mission priest lake and I am wondering is this area / apartments alright?

Also would there be a better place as the g/f is always worried about safety as am I being new to town minus a week trip we took about 3 weeks ago. Our Price range is $700ish ideally with a min of 1bd w den or 2bd. We wouldn't be opposed to a house or townhome however checking around nobody as responded as of yet.

Also what areas should I visit and stay away from kind of like in Minneapolis I know parts of North and South Minneapolis I lock my doors during the day type of deal.

Last thing good places to meet new people we are both pretty open and will be starting from scratch not knowing a single person.

Thanks for any help

For young people wanting to learn about the various downtown neighborhoods, I recommend reading this to start with:
Nashville Neighborhoods and Areas of Town - Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau

I don't know anything about Mission Priest Lakes specifically, but I used to live nearby in Donalson and it was okay. It depends on how close you want to live in town and if you'd rather be in a more defined/active neighborhood versus living in the outskirts.

The rental market in Nashville is really tough. The area you are talking about is in Antioch I believe. Parts of it are fine and parts can be a little scary. I think for meeting people your age with your interest you may want to look more towards E.Nashville, Hillsboro Village, The Gulch, Melrose, Donelson is a great suggestion as some of the ones I mentioned can be expensive and hard to find a place to rent. Trulia list rentals..Craigslist in Nashville is ripe with scammers so be careful. Good Luck, my husband did an Internship at Emerald when they were still around..

You are right from the visit I made about 3 weeks ago. In that area it seemed alright as long as you stayed north of mursfreebro pike I think is the name of the road.

Looking at Craigslist has got me no where other then people wanting me to sign a lease when they say they are out of town. I would love to live in east Nashville but finding a place for 700-750 2br is proving to be rather hard.

On that note with someone that has sales, delivery driving, and barback experience where should I look for jobs that pay decent?

Yes..it is tough. Try the search engine indeed.com it pools all of the job postings together. Also, Try the community list serv. East Nashville has a google group. You can find it by doing a group search on Google and just typing in East Nashville in the search criteria. Other areas have groups as well. Best of luck.
