Hi my family just relocated to the Nashville area, we are currently staying with family in Columbia until we find an apartment. I work off of Old Hickory Blvd about a half mile from 65 in Brentwood and my husband goes to school off of Old Hickory Blvd also. We're not sure what part of town that is actually called but we are hoping to get an apartment somewhere in that area. We come from a place where a 45 min commute is almost inevitable, so having the opportunity to live close to work and school is amazing. However we have no idea where to even start looking for daycare. We want something close to that general area just to make things simple but above all safety is the most important issue. It also needs to be affordable. $800 a month is completely out of our price range. I would prefer one that is not "in home" but with outstanding recommendations it would be considered. Thanks

Welcome to Nashville! We don't live too far from that area. It's a pretty great place to locate, in my opinion. When my daughter was 4, she went to Edmondson Pike Child Care. It's part of the Woodson Chapel Church of Christ. We had a perfectly wonderful experience there. That has been 4 years, but it might be worth checking into. Good luck with your search and with settling in to your new city. I hope you like it.

Thank you so much, I will check it out. I will say this about what I've experienced since I've been here, I'm from a small town in NC so I'm pretty accustomed to "southern hospitality", but I have never met so many nice people in all my life. Everyone is so welcoming and polite. I think we're really going to enjoy it here.

You're welcome! I do find Nashville to be a pretty welcoming place, and I'm glad others do too. I miswrote above. That should say it was 4 years ago not 8. My daughter is 8 now. I should not write when I'm watching TV!

We know several people whose children went to Crievewood Methodist for childcare. It's $128 a week for children ages 3-5, and $138 for babies-2 year olds.
You could check them out also.

That sounds great, thanks. Some where around that general area, price wise and location, is fantastic!
