So my husband and I finally made it here after months of deciding and making plans. Within just a few days of being here our plans fell through. I was supposed to have a job before moving here and that didnt pan out so we're starting from scratch. I did get a job in Nashville and my husband is going to school in Nashville but plans to transfer to MTSU in the spring. We are currently staying with family in Columbia. We're wondering where would be some good places for us to move to now but keeping in mind that he will be transferring to MTSU in about 6 months. We dont want to live as far out as Columbia either. We are looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, condo for rent, or apartment. It needs to be in a family friendly area that is safe. But not out in the sticks lol. Oh yeah and the rent needs to be $900 at the most. Any recommendation would be great. Thanks

Agreed...Smyrna would be a good choice. It's about as close to midway between Murfreesboro and Nashville as you can get. Family friendly, variety of housing options.

Thanks Guys!! That's what I was thinking just by looking at google maps but we don't know anything about the area so it could be a complete dump for all we know.

That would be its neighbor, La Vergne.

Smyrna is a city in transition I think. They've become a fairly popular suburb because of their proximity to both Nashville and Murfreesboro, but they have also been able to keep their small(er) town identity I think.

Or why not just move to Murfreesboro in anticipation of the transfer to MTSU?

I heard the commute from Murfreesboro was terrible so to cut down on my drive time any would be better than none.
