What is the average commute between these two areas ?
Is it advisable if one has to work a week on and a week off...leaving 6 in the morning and coming back after 7.
Please guide.

Thanks

From downtown Clarksville to Cool Springs is about 1 hour and 15 minutes without traffic. If you live in the Sango area or closer to the Interstate it will be less but 1 hour minimum. If you leave Clarksville at 6 and Cool Springs at 7 that means you wouldn't get home until at least 8 and even if you only sleep 7 hours that gives you only 3 hours at home each day!

I would look north of Nashville. Any accident, inclement weather may bump the commute toward 2 hours.

Clarksville really isn't a suburb of Nashville. It's a totally separate town.

Regardless of which side of town you live or work on, Vive still has an excellent point about your quality of life if you live that far away from your job. The amount of time you would have at home is negligible. And, based on the Triple A commuting calculator, you would spend a little more than $800/month driving the 140 or so miles between Clarksville and Franklin (round trip) 10 days a month.

Commuter Connections

I would advise against living in Franklin if your job is in Clarksville.

Madison has good parts and bad parts. I live right on the western edge of Madison, in one of the nicer subdivisions, right off the highway. Not sure where your job is in Clarksville, but inputting my address to Clarksville on Google maps it says about 45 miles (53 minutes) each way. That's still a lot for a commute. I know personal preference is a big part of it, but I wouldn't want to drive that far to work each day, even with a week off in between.

I think to answer your questions, then we need a bit more information. How far are you comfortable driving to get to work? What kind of area are you looking for (urban, suburban, small town, apartment, house, etc.) and what's your budget? There's not a lot between Nashville and Clarksville in terms of urban development except a few small towns. I don't know Clarksville at all, but you might be able to get input on good/bad areas of Clarksville from somebody here.

I would skip Madison. I would look at either Hendersonville (west side just so you are closer) or Goodlettsville.

Traffic on I24 from Clarksville to Nashville or Franklin is crazy..... especially at rush hour. Just be prepared to have a lot of bumper to bumper and cars flying in and out of lanes. Not to mention the merging lanes coming in sometimes stops traffice completely. I avoid it at all costs if I can.

Sango area of Clarksville is the closest to Nashville being the furthest Southeasat area of town and really nice area. It's off Exit 11 off 41A bypass and Hwy 76. Only a few minutes to the heart of Clarksville too.
