I would really appreciate it if anyone could recommend some multicultural, non-denominational churches in or near Nashville.

Thank you

In my experience, non-denominational churches are quite varied. Some retaining a distinct "flavor" of a denomination...maybe the mother church they spun off of. While others are completely homogenously non-denominational. That said, I think it is a bit of a challenge to find a truly multi-ethnic non-denominational church in this area. Not just in Nashville, but in most places, Sunday morning is the most racially segregated day of the week as churches just aren't that diversified from a racial perspective.

Still, I'd give Belmont Church a try for the immediate Nashville area. Other than that, let us know what part of town you're in (or will be in) and maybe we can toss out a few other ideas of churches in your area that might be worth a look.

This is a little disappointing to hear. Although Sunday maybe the most racially segregated day of the week, I was easily able to find a few integrated churches here in Columbus, OH when I arrived. However, I was looking to relocate to either Hendersonville or Brentwood.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I don't mean to throw a wet blanket on the entire religious community of Nashville. But at least in my experience it is still pretty segregated. And I've visited/been a member of liberal churches over the last 10-15 years which generally lend themselves to be racially tolerant. And I do believe those congregations WERE racially tolerant, but just didn't have a diverse membership. Part of it is because of demographics...Hendersonville (and Brentwood) tend to be predominantly white. So while there is diversity there, there's not as much as you might find in a non-denom in parts of Davidson County.

I can't really speak for Brentwood, but look into Community Church of Hendersonville (right on Main St). It is probably the biggest non-denom in Hendersonville and has a great reputation. I know a few people who attend here (visited there years ago) and they love it...but I'm not sure I'd say its diverse. Welcoming, tolerant, but not necessarily diverse. I could be wrong of course.

Another church I've seen is The Church at Indian Lake. I don't know much (anything) about it except it is non-denom as well.

You might also want to look at Northeast Church and Lifepointe Church, which is an extension of the Lifepointe community of churches across the nation.

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have more questions.

I would suggest a church with "Pointe" (CrossPointe, GracePointe, etc..) in the name or Journey in Franklin. There are others of course but that's where I'd start.

I would second Belmont Church as one to check out.

I agree with Belmont Church in Nashville. It is my understanding that Bethel World Outreach in Brentwood is multicultural. And Strong Tower in Franklin.

LifeChurch.TV in Hendersonville is great. I see a lot of diversity and the people there are really chill.

I agree with Lifechurch.tv. We started going there about a year ago and love it.
