Considering relocation from MN. LOVE the South. Good job in Bowling Green, but I don't want to live there. Single mom, 2 kids 13 and 10. Need good schools. Prefer to be somewhere between Nashville and Bowling Green, to ease the commute to Bowling Green - but want to be commutable to Nashville in case I ever need to find another job.

I've read in earlier posts that everyone recommends Nashville suburbs as: Hendersonville, Franklin, Spring Hill, Mt. Juliette. But I'm wondering if there is ANYTHING decent between Nash and Bowling G, or is it just farmland and small towns?

Please advise.

If you live in Tennessee, you're going to be at least 30 minutes from your job in Bowling Green. Like, if you live on the border, it will be about 30 minutes.

Hendersonville will be closer to an hour. Hendersonville is the only sizable suburban Nashville town within range. Your other choices will mainly be towns of between 5-15,000 people. Some smaller.

The closest within Tennessee is going to be Portland, then White House. Both have populations over 10,000, but they feel a bit smaller.

Springfield and Gallatin are pretty far off the interstate, and I think it would get tiresome after a while.

Portland would be the best halfway point in case you made a change, and didn't want to move.

Hendersonville would be the best if schools are a consideration.

What type of budget do you have?

White House also has a fantastic school system, and is a decent halfway point between Bowling Green and Nashville. I wouldn't expect a really short commute if you're looking to live in between, it'd probably be 45 minutes or so, depending on exactly where you live and work.
