Smile About Nashville

Nashville offers many cultural opportunities that do not cost an arm and a leg. There is a wonderful farmer's market downtown, across from the state Capitol and close to a beautiful memorial park. The Mall at Green Hills, which has been mentioned in previous posts, has many upscale shops, but it also offers Macy's, and Dillard's department stores. The Mall really has something to offer all economic levels. Coming from a small town a couple of hours north, Nashville is a favorite destination. The people who work in restaurants and shops there are so friendly and always helpful.

I don't live in Nashville myself, but I've been to the area many times. I know Murfreesboro has a VA hospital, and a nursing home. I haven't seen the entire VA campus, but I've been in the nursing home. My grandfather passed away last year, and was a WWII veteran. The VA nursing home is state run by Tennessee, and is very nice, in fact just as nice if not nicer than some of the private nursing homes I have been in here in NC. The staff there is also very friendly and caring, and accommodates resident's wishes, and takes them out on outings to places, etc. Mufreesboro isn't really a small, small town though. It's a nice size, and still right by Nashville.
