My family and I are looking to relocate to Tennessee from NY this coming summer. We currently live in a small town with one school for elementary, one for middle and one high school. I see Tennessee has multiple schools in each town. We were told Williamson county is the best county for schools so I'm looking to reside there. Nolensville seems to stick out for me but they have two elementary schools to choose from. I don't want to change my children from school to school so I'm hoping to get some advise on which of the two elementary schools in Nolensville would be best? Which preschools would you recommend? How is the overall town of Nolensville when it comes to diversity? My daughter is looking to join a youth cheerleading team are there any in the surrounding area?

Thank you for any direction your able to provide.

Lady G

Since the OP is asking questions about Nolensville, and since Nolensville is just outside of Nashville, I've moved this thread to the Nashville forum.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of the two elementary schools in Nolensville. Personally, I prefer Sunset to Nolensville Elementary but that is just a personal preference. Both are fine schools.

With regard to diversity, I don't think you are going to find a significant level of diversity anywhere in Williamson County. Sure, there are other ethnicities, financial situations and cultural backgrounds but the heavy majority are white upper middle class to wealthy. I look at Nolensville very much like Mayberry in the new millenium and I am hoping that doesn't change.

Nolensville is on the cusp of a growth boom. Right now it is a top destination for NE transplants and young families. Once the new high school is built there in 2015, growth will explode.

Based on my knowledge of the principals, I would choose Nolensville Elementary in a heartbeat. That school has GREAT leadership.

What kind of "diversity" are you looking for?? Economic? Racial? Ethnic? I mean, Nolensville is a tiny country crossroads that is just far enough from Nashville and Franklin to have kept the growth sort of manageable, but it is still tied to its mostly white agricultural background.

There are kid activities like cheer but you will have to drive to Franklin/Cool Springs to do most any of that stuff.

Unless you want to be the first and open your own place in Nolensville!

The Nolensville principal just went to FRA. I really liked him when he was at Edmondson. Hopefully whomever is hired as the new principal will do as good a job as Ryan.

I've heard good things about both elementary schools. There is talk of building a K-8 school in Nolensville next to the new high school but that is probably 5+ years out.

Boo!

That's the second really great principal they've harvested from Williamson County, after Rick West from Scales.
I guess FRA came to play.

OP, if you live IN Nolensville, as opposed to the fringes of Brentwood, you won't have to change schools any more than the normal transitions from middle to high school etc. I don't know of any preschools IN Nolensville.

Anyway, I think Nolensville would be a good place to live as long as you are prepared to drive everywhere.
