Hello everyone!

My family and I moved to the Smyrna area nearly a year ago from MA. So far we love the area, school system has been fantastic (3 kids, ages 8, 8, and 11 go to Stewarts Creek), and the cost of living is much cheaper than up north. The only thing that been a little bit of a struggle is meeting more people. We have become great friends with our neighbors, but other than that we really haven't become friends with too many other families (our subdivision tends to keep to themselves). Our neighborhood doesn't have a community pool and we are considering moving to a neighborhood that does (we are renting currently and need to for another 3 years), with the hope being that a new neighborhood would be a little more "family-centric".

Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts, experiences from others who relocated, on the easiest way to meet new people and families?

Thanks!

There are clubs/groups and organizations that you could join. What does your family like doing?

I'd join the local Y . . which may not be all that close but they have a pool and are very family friendly!

We had a similar issue when we moved to Texas. Then someone mentioned meetup.com and we joined a couple of groups there, met some new people and it was fun. You can choose a group by interests and location.
