Chattanooga is cool indeed. It has definitely come a LONG way and seems to only be moving in more of the right direction with time.

passed through it a couple of weeks ago on my way to Atlanta seemed like a nice city but it was night time so I didn't see that much, on our way back to Indy went through Birmingham which also isn't that far away from Nashville, a little under 3 hrs.

Nashville is green and gorgeous with lots of rolling hills. Never realized how green it was until I moved away! Night life is fantastic with tons of bars of every style (piano, country, dive, jazz etc) comedy clubs, concerts, festivals, coffee houses, the list goes on. You will never be bored in that city for sure. The winters vary lately, some mild and some it seems to snow all the time. Summer is hot but a perfect reason to canoe one of the many rivers or hang out at the lakes. Fall is beautiful of course. And Nashville is a very health-conscious city. Lots of fitness facilities, hiking trails, organic foods, smoking ban and reusable bags! Never been to Denver but lived in Nashville for nearly 20 years and for me, nowhere compares.

Exclamation If you happen to have gone sensitive to altitude.....

If you happen to have gone sensitive to altitude...Denver could make you quite ill!

I had a friend try to visit his family there and nearly DIED from heart issues he did not know he had!

Be sure you visit first to make sure you're not constantly exhausted there--or worse!

To know what to tell you to see/do, we'd need to know a bit more of your interests, or you can check out

I think you should make time on your trip to visit Knoxville and Chattanooga. You'll get to encounter the Cumberland plateau and see if that is mountainous enough for you. Nashville has a lot going for it but if you want maountains in a short drive you really need ot be in E TN. Maybe even Johnson city.

You can visit Nashville on occasional weekends and experience all it has to offer. But Knoxville has plenty to keep you occupied. Maybe Chattanooga, too.
