Me too. I'm old enough to be nostalgic. The Tennessee Theater building and the downtown Cain Sloan for example. Remember the Hippodrome on West End?

As for new things, all types of alcohol available for purchase in grocery stores (like they do in so many other states).

Hmm there is one in Milton, GA (which I was not aware of). Now beside IKEA, I have another reason to go to Atlanta.

Those who haven't been to a Fry's should. Pretty amazing shopping experience.

Other than that, I would bring in Whataburger and Taco Cabana - the ONLY things I miss from Texas.

The new guitar scoreboard for the Sounds stadium is going to be awesome but I will probably never get over the fact that the stadium should have been built on the old thermal plant site.

-Amtrak station with plans to upgrade to high speed rail
-A internationally recognizable skyscraper
-Public schools that even the wealthy would choose to send their children to.
-More historic neighborhoods that remain intact.

-Everything HeyHey said, especially regarding public schools.
-Remove the constrictive interstate loop around downtown.
-Upgrade Briley Parkway to interstate status and widen to eight lanes from Murfreesboro Road to I-24.
-Provide a direct limited access route to connect downtown, East Nashville, and Opryland Hotel.
-Provide substantial infill on downtown and west end corridors.
-Provide diverse significant retail options for residents and visitors not based on country music such as Atlantic Station (Atlanta), Downtown Chattanooga, City Creek Center (Salt Lake City), etc.
-Revitalize Nolensville Road Corridor with mixed use development and landscaping.
-Remove the trash heap and warehouses from downtown completely.
-Mirror Gulch Community Development elements in East Nashville, Cool Springs, Brentwood, and Donelson Airport Area.
-Provide a direct controlled access route from Smyrna to Cool Springs.
-Place a moratorium on pawn shops, pay day loans, quick cash, tobacco and beer, vapor, and fast food chains in the city.
-Repurpose closed Target Store in Antioch as a new Costco, also open up land behind the store for new development similar to Nashville West Shopping Center.
-Replace Bellevue Center with upscale development similar to the Summit Birmingham, Summit Lexington, or Kenwood Towne Place (Cincinnati).
